HHD Student Research Showcase

2026 Student Research Showcase

The College of Health and Human Development will host the 6th Annual Student Research Showcase on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. Undergraduate and graduate students from all HHD disciplines are invited to present their research!

The Showcase will be a hybrid event, with virtual oral presentations and in-person poster sessions.  We look forward to a day-long event celebrating the outstanding student research in the college.

Deadline to Submit Abstracts:  Monday, March 23, 2026 by 11:59 PM

Complete the online form and upload a project abstract of no more than 300 words.

Group presentations are welcome, however, we request no more than three (3) speaking presenters per presentation.

Types of Projects
Students may present either their Completed or In Progress research projects:
  • Completed Projects are those where data collection and analysis have been completed and results and conclusions are ready to be shared by the time of the Showcase. Students with completed projects can choose to present either a poster or virtual oral presentation on the day of the Showcase. Completed poster and oral presentations will be judged and the best presentations will be recognized and awarded prizes.

  • In Progress Projects are those projects that have not started data collection yet or still need to analyze data and do not have results or conclusions to share by the time of the Showcase. Instead, students should share expected results and possible implications of their work and future directions. Students with In Progress projects will present a digital poster, in-person on the day of the Showcase.

Presentation Formats

In-Person Poster Sessions (Completed or In Progress Projects):  Students will present digital PowerPoint posters during a 50 minute in-person poster session (location: Education Classroom, 2nd floor patio).  Posters do not need to be printed for the Showcase, as computers and monitors will be set up for students to display their poster and use for their presentations. Digital PowerPoint posters will need to be submitted in advance of the Showcase day.

Virtual Oral Presentations (Completed Projects Only):  Students will prepare a short, 10-minute PowerPoint presentation overview of their completed research project.  Presenters will be assigned to a 50-minute Zoom Oral Presentation room with other presenters and a faculty moderator.  There will be a 5-minute question and answer session following each presentation.

Presenters in both formats will receive feedback on their presentations from faculty.

Notification & Materials Submission

Students will be notified via email by Friday, March 27, 2026 about their accepted presentation and format.

Digital PowerPoint posters in PDF format must be emailed no later than April 16, 2026 to hhdresearch@fullerton.edu
