COVID-19 did not create health disparities. Instead, it exposed the structural deficiencies in our society that lead to inequitable outcomes for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color in the United States. Critical Conversations on Health Equity and Justice aim to reflect the complexity of health and wellbeing as outcomes of the intersectionality between structural racism, ecological destruction, injustice, and inequity. The Critical Conversations series for 2020-2021 will highlight faculty research and scholarship that addresses structural determinants of health equity and justice.
