Types of Projects

Students may present either their Completed  or In Progress research projects.

  • Completed Projects are those where data collection and analysis have been completed and results and conclusions are ready to be shared by the time of the Showcase. Students with completed projects can choose to present either an in-person poster or virtual oral presentation on the day of the Showcase. Completed poster and oral presentations will be judged and the best presentations will be recognized.

  • In Progress Projects are those projects that have not started data collection yet or still need to analyze data and do not have results or conclusions to share by the time of the Showcase.  Instead, students should share expected results and possible implications of their work and future directions.  Students with In Progress projects will present a digital poster, in-person on the day of the Showcase.

Presentation Formats

  • In-Person Poster Presentations (Completed or In Progress Projects):  Students will present a digital powerpoint poster during a 50 minute in-person poster session (location EC 2nd Floor Patio).   Posters do not need to be printed for the Showcase, as computers and moniters will be set up for students to display their poster and use for their presentation.  Digital powerpoint posters will be available online ahead of the event.

  • Virtual Oral Presentations (Completed Projects Only):  Students will prepare a short, 10 minute powerpoint presentation overview of their completed research project.  Presenters will be assigned to a  50 minute Zoom Oral Presentation room with other presenters and a faculty moderator.  There will be a 5 minute question and answer session following each presentation.

Presenters (in both formats) will receive feedback on their presentation from experienced research faculty.

Contact hhdresearch@fullerton.edu, if you have any questions about this event or abstract submission.
