California Title IV-E Education Program
Overview
The California Title IV-E Education Program is the nation's largest state coalition of social work educators and practitioners, created in 1990. Hosted by UCLA's Luskin School of Public Affairs, the program is dedicated to developing a professional social service workforce to serve California's diverse population of children and families effectively.
Title IV-E Child Welfare Training Program

Purpose:
- Provides professional education and student support through the Title IV-E Stipend Program.
- Prepares graduate and undergraduate social work students for careers in public child welfare.

Stipend Program:
- Supports students pursuing a career in the Public Child Welfare sector.
- Offers students hands-on experience working in county child welfare agencies to prepare them for the field.

Work Commitment:
- Students who receive the stipend commit to work repayment in a county child welfare agency upon graduation from the MSW program.

ELIGIBILITY AND APPLICATION PROCESS
Eligibility Requirements

Two-Year Program Applicants:
- Must declare Child Welfare as their concentration to apply for the stipend.

Three-Year Flex/Part-Time Applicants:
- Part-time applicants are no longer limited to current qualifying agency employees.
- Schools will prioritize applicants from current qualifying agency employees but may fill remaining positions with other qualified applicants.
Application Process
- Complete the California Title IV-E Education Program portion of the online MSW program application.
- Applications will only be processed after:
- You are accepted into the MSW program at Cal State Fullerton.
- You have confirmed your attendance.
