Prospective Students

There are some changes coming to our major!

Beginning in Fall 2021, the bachelor’s degree in Child and Adolescent Development (CHAD) will be re-named to a bachelor’s degree in Child and Adolescent Studies (CAS).  In addition, the four options will now be concentrations.

When declaring a major in Child and Adolescent Studies, students will need to choose between a concentration in Adolescent and Youth Development (AYD), Early Childhood Development (ECD), Elementary School Settings (ESS), or Family Community Contexts (FCC).

Students can change their concentration at a later date if they change their mind.

The required courses to complete these concentrations are not changing.
