ASSP

Founded in 1911, the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) is the longest-running safety society and the most respected advocate for safety and health professionals. In addition to 35,000+ members internationally, your local chapter (Orange County ASSP) gives you access to professionals in your area as well as internships, employment, and mentorship opportunities.

Among more than 75 student sections in the United States, the CSUF ASSP student section is the only student section in the Greater Los Angeles area (i.e., Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, San Bernardino, and Riverside County). Our student section is designed for student members pursuing careers in the environmental and occupational health and safety (EOHS) field. We provide additional opportunities for students to learn about their chosen areas of study, promote interaction between students and safety professionals, and offer excellent resume-building leadership opportunities for student section officers and members. Because our student section is housed at CSUF and supported by the Orange County ASSP Chapter, we offer the added benefit of local networking. Click here to learn more about the student section membership benefits and qualifications.

The CSUF ASSP student section meets monthly during the academic year, and these meetings include presentations by EOHS professionals, workshops, and tours. If you are interested in joining the CSUF ASSP student section, please contact the faculty advisor, Dr. Danny Kim (dannykim@fullerton.edu). If you want to receive future emails concerning the CSUF ASSP student section, you can click here to add yourself to the CSUF ASSP student section email list.
