Welcome to the Department of Public Health website!
As time passes from the recent global COVID-19 pandemic, public health continues to be of critical importance to the health and wellbeing of our nation. Confronting systemic and structural racism, achieving health equity, countering the negative effects of climate on health, preventing violence, managing the use of artificial intelligence in the public health workforce, and preventing future pandemics continue to challenge public health practitioners, policy makers, and advocates. It is an immense privilege for our department to play a part in the important work of training the public health workforce. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to work with amazing faculty colleagues and staff in serving our students. The beautifully diverse backgrounds and experiences of our students and their commitment to improving the health of our communities is a true inspiration!
