Aging and Adult Services (AAS) Training Program

The Aging and Adult Services (AAS) MSW Training Program provides selected MSW students with stipend support and specialized training in aging-focused social work practice. Funded by the California Department of Social Services in coordination with the San José State University Research Foundation, the program is designed to prepare social workers for roles in Adult Protective Services (APS). Each year, approximately four students receive a $25,000 stipend for every academic year of participation. Graduates complete a one-year employment obligation in a California county APS unit for each year of stipend support.
