Counseling Men in Difficult Times:
Strategies for Addressing the Mental Health Needs of Men
Friday, April 9, 2010; 8:00PM to 5:30PM
Titan Student Union
California State University, Fullerton
The Counseling Men in Difficult Times conference will bring together leading scholars and practitioners in mental health and masculinity with the goal of offering pragmatic interventions and solutions that address the needs of Southern California men and their families. The conference will present clinically derived best practices that (a) encourage men to engage in mental health services; and (b) alleviate their distress and their family’s once they are in treatment. Because of the rich cultural diversity in Southern California, this conference will emphasize themes associated with treating men across a wide range of cultural identities and backgrounds. The conference will include keynote addresses from two of the leading national voices on helping men, interactive symposium panels that focus on practical treatment options, and a live demonstration of actual counseling.
* Registration will end on April 2, 2010. Act quickly to reserve a seat!
