Recreation, Fitness, Health & Promotion


The Recreation, Fitness, and Health Promotion concentration provides knowledge and practical experience supporting careers in areas such as recreation, fitness instruction, corporate fitness, work site health promotion, and older adult fitness and wellness. Prepares students for advanced study in recreation, fitness and health promotion. Students in this concentration must choose between the recreation area or the fitness and health promotion area.

KNES 304 Introduction to Recreation and Leisure Time Physical Activities
KNES 352 Principles of Teaching Group Fitness or KNES 354 Cardiovascular Exercise Testing and Prescription
KNES 414 Legal Issues in Kinesiology
KNES 495 Internship in Kinesiology



Additional Required Courses (6 units):

KNES 403 Recreation Facility Management and Program
KNES 404 Recreation Staff Management and Communication
