| Biosketch: |
David Chen received his doctorate degree in motor behavior and sport psychology from University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida. He taught for four years at State University of New York at Cortland and one year at California State University Los Angeles prior to joining the faculty in the Division of Kinesiology and Health Science in 1998. |

| Interest Areas: |
Dr. Chen’s research is primarily interested in enhancing motor skill acquisition and sport perforrmance through the development of cognitive and metacognitive strategies for the learner and the improvement of communication between the learner and the instructor. In addition, he is interested in helping people manage stress using physical, psychological, and/or spiritual approaches. |

Research projects include (1) interactive feedback and goal setting effects on performing a timing task; (2) cumulative augmented feedback and its effect on decision making; and (3) flow experience in Wushu (Chinese martial arts).
