Substance Abuse Awareness and Prevention Student Association (SAAPSA)


SAAPSA Mission Statement

The purpose of Substance Abuse Awareness Prevention Student Association (SAAPSA) is to promote substance abuse awareness and prevention to CSUF students, alumni, faculty, staff and community members through education, outreach and community service. SAAPSA also works closely with the California Association for Alcohol/Drug Educators (CAADE) to fundraise and send students to the annual CAADE Conference.  SAAPSA is an organization of students educating peers about alcohol, tobacco, and other drug abuse. We promote harm reduction and work to decrease high-risk behaviors and consequences associated with alcohol, tobacco, and other drug abuse among California State University of Fullerton.

How to Join

Thank you for your expressed interest in joining and participating in the Substance Abuse Awareness & Prevention Student Association (SAAPSA). We are confident you will enjoy and benefit from networking and interacting with your peers, staff, and faculty members. Lifetime Membership is $40.00, which includes a SAAPSA T-Shirt, membership certificate, earned graduation cord and all of the rights and privileges of any member in good standing.

Please complete and submit this membership application along with the $40 membership fee in cash or check (made out to SAAPSA) to EC 105 during the following Board Member office hours: Mondays 11am-12pm, Tuesdays 10am-11am, Wednesdays 1pm – 2pm, and Thursdays 10:30 am-11:30 am, or to any scheduled member meeting.  Applications can be picked up during office hours, from the SAAPSA board located on the 1st floor of the EC building by EC-125 or at any of our on campus meetings or events.

CORD POLICY: Complete TWO Events. Attendance to TWO General Meetings required. TWO Community service volunteer projects must be completed. Other events include fundraising events, volunteer events, donation drives etc.

Members are encouraged to pick up their t-shirts at club meetings or by emailing our membership coordinator at saapsa.membership@gmail.com.
