Dr. Lilia Espinoza received her Master’s in Public Health from the University of California at Los Angeles and her PhD in Preventive Medicine from the University of Southern California. Dr. Espinoza has conducted evidence-based, primary and secondary HIV prevention interventions with Spanish-speaking Latino immigrants; probation youth; HIV-infected women and their children; and health care providers of patients living with HIV. In addition, she is working with a team that is currently adapting a CDC evidence-based intervention and tailoring it to Spanish speaking Latina mothers and their adolescent teen daughters to improve intergenerational sexual health communication; delay age at sexual onset; and increase safer sex behaviors among sexually active teen females.
