About the Students

Matthew Martinez

Matthew Martinez

Matt Martinez is a lead instructor in the Center for Successful Aging. Matt is a graduate of California State University, Fullerton with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and working towards obtaining his Master’s degree in Gerokinesiology.  He is currently instructing the Fit 4 Life and NeuroFit classes.  Matt is an avid bowler, winning championships in both singles and team competitions.

 

Nick Reynolds

Nick Reynolds

Nick is a former Division 1 Athlete and competed for the Cal State Fullerton Titans Track and Field program for two years. Nick is a graduate of California State University, Fullerton with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and is working towards obtaining his Master’s Degree in Gerokinesiology.  During his undergraduate program he discovered his passion for working with the older adult population. Nick is a certified Balance & Mobility Specialist Instructor and is currently leading the Neuro-Fit and the Building Better Balance class in the Center for Successful Aging.  

 

Kayla Rubio

Kayla Rubio

Kayla is a lead instructor in the Center for Successful Aging.   She is currently working towards attaining her Master’s Degree in Gerokinesiology. Kayla obtained her bachelor’s degree in Kinesology from California State University, Fullerton in 2014. She has acquired 4 years of coaching experience in volleyball and enjoys playing the sport as well. She has work experience in chiropractic, physical therapy and occupational therapy offices; Sommer Sports Chiropractic and Hand Rehabilitation Specialists, both located in her hometown of Simi Valley, CA.
