Introduction to Ballet Barre
Gabriela Klein

Ballet Barre is a highly efficient workout with movements based on classic ballet positions. This ballet-inspired workout is ideal for individuals looking for an exercise routine to achieve sculpted and lean muscles.  The barre is used as a prop to balance while doing exercises that focus on isometric strength training using tiny, one-inch increments. The smaller movements in a barre class can bring a new level of awareness to the body that you may not experience in regular strength workouts.

This workshop will include exercises performed on floor mats, incorporating a range of Pilates moves to improve strength, tone, and flexibility. Dance experience is not necessary, beginners are welcome.

Exploring the Possibilities for Rich, Fulfilling Lives
Leslie R. Martin

Some people thrive into old age while others falter, but the reasons are not as simple as most people think. The Longevity Project, an 8-decade study, followed more than 1,500 individuals who were first assessed as school children in the 1920s. What were the characteristics and life patterns of those who thrived and lived long? Did they work hard? What kinds of careers did they have? What were their educational and their marital histories? What about their hobbies and physical activity levels? Were they carefree or worriers? Many of the discoveries were surprising! This session will explore the many myths about healthy aging that were exposed and will point to the sometimes-paradoxical patterns and styles that can help individuals stay healthier and age well.

You’ve been deceived by our culture, misled by our media, and lied to by Madison Avenue, Hollywood, your friends, your family and even yourself. It’s a life-stealing lie because what the mind believes, the body embraces. I’m going to show you truth.
