CACREP Accreditation Statement
The Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), a specialized accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), has granted accreditation until March 31, 2024, to the following program in the Department of Counseling at California State University, Fullerton: Clinical Mental Health Counseling (M.S.).
Please note: CACREP has experienced delays in scheduling accreditation site visits the last two years, starting with the cancellation of all Spring 2020 in-person visits due to COVID. Since that time, CACREP has implemented a virtual site visit process, which has helped our efforts to reduce delays between site visit approvals and scheduled visits.
As the counseling specialty areas and doctoral program have been approved for a site visit and are waiting for that visit to occur, the CACREP Board approved a no-penalty extension of accredited status. The new accreditation expiration date for the accredited specialty area in Clinical Mental Health Counseling is March 31, 2024.
