CASSA Constitution

Executive President

Executive President – Melissa Viana

Hi CASSA! My name is Melissa Viana, and I am the 2018-2019 Executive President.  This is my senior year, and I plan to graduate in the spring with a major in Child and Adolescent Development and a concentration in Family and Community Contexts. I served CASSA first as a general member, then on the board as the ICC Representative, and now as President. Among the many reasons I had for becoming involved in CASSA, I joined primarily because I knew I would be happy making even the smallest difference in the lives of children in our community. In the future, I plan to work with infants and toddlers as an occupational therapist. Even if you're not planning to be a teacher, it doesn't mean you don't belong in this club! Some of my personal interests include traveling everywhere and anywhere, being immersed in different cultures, and doing a lot of self-exploration. It is a privilege to be a part of such a lovely group of individuals, and I cannot wait to see what this year holds for CASSA!

Some of my hobbies include catching up on all the latest Netflix series, dancing to any music, and also trying to complete this 1000 piece puzzle my roommates and I thought would be a good idea to get. FUN FACT: Many of my friends refer to me as “SUEZ” (like Sue + Z), which I secretly love and wish everyone called me (so feel free to do the same). As far as careers go, I know for a FACT I want to have a career in education, but not sure exactly what yet! It is my job to invite guest speakers to our meetings and to identify conference opportunities for members to attend. It will be my goal to provide CASSA members with a diverse group of guest speakers so they can learn about new careers they may not have known about before.
