Welcome to the home-page for the Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP) at California State University, Fullerton. CSUF has a rich history in the education of athletic training students. Since it’s beginning in 1973, scores of students have completed the arduous didactic and clinical curriculum to become board Certified Athletic Trainers (ATC). California State University, Fullerton currently offers a CAATE accredited entry-level undergraduate Athletic Training Education Program. For those interested in attending Cal State Fullerton to become an ATC, it should be noted that every student must complete ALL aspects of the ATEP (both academic and clinical) prior to graduating and becoming board-eligible.
Quality remains our top priority, as evidenced by our students’ first-time success rate for the national board exams (~70% compared to a national average of ~35%). The faculty and staff of the Department of Kinesiology, as well as the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics are proud of our graduates who are employed in a variety of settings, including professional teams, colleges/universities, high schools, clinics, medical offices, and industrial settings.
Please explore our home-page and let us know how we can help you in your educational pursuits. If you have not already done so, you should review the ATEP Informational Packet (in Academics). You are encouraged to discuss the ATEP with the ATEP faculty, staff, alumni, and students. Feel free to contact us at 657-278-3430.
