Description of Internship: **All interns and volunteers must provide fingerprints (between $15 & $20 for processing) and a DMV printout ($5 from DMV office). A five month commitment to agency with this program.** The Child Abuse Prevention Center invites you to become a student intern dedicated to making a difference in your community. Our Internship Program offers undergraduate students a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in the area of child abuse. INTERNS: Good parenting skills, including effective communication techniques and positive discipline tools, help to build strong families who can break the generational cycle of child abuse. The Case Work Assistant will receive hands on experience working with families in conjunction with an experienced Case Work Specialist. Support will also be provided to Case Worker Assistant through weekly supervision meetings with a Program Manager. TRAINING: Interns receive more than ten hours of professional training on contemporary parenting issues, child development, and family communication issues. Bilingual students are encouraged to apply!!
